Job Description:
We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic native English speaker to join our team as a part-time English Teacher for preschoolers and young adults in Japan. The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching, possess excellent communication skills, and have a genuine love for working with children and young learners. The position offers an exciting opportunity to foster language development and cultural exchange while promoting a fun and engaging learning environment.
- Conduct dynamic and interactive English lessons for preschoolers and young adults, focusing on language acquisition, pronunciation, listening, and communication skills.
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and educational games that align with the curriculum objectives and cater to the varying language levels of students.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and motivated to participate in the learning process.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians to ensure continuous improvement and academic growth.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to exchange ideas, share best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the English language program.
- Stay up-to-date with language teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and educational trends to enhance teaching strategies and approaches.
- Embrace flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changes in the classroom environment and adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles.
- Display strong teamwork skills, actively participating in team meetings and school events, fostering a sense of community among students, parents, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Native level English speaker with strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience in teaching English to preschoolers and/or young adults is preferred
- Passionate about education, language learning, and working with children of various age groups.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, understanding, and able to create a nurturing environment that promotes student confidence and self-expression.
- Authorized to work in Japan – we do not offer visa sponsorship
This is a part-time position and the exact hours will depend on what is applicant’s availability.
Classes may be held during weekday afternoons and weekends.
